Manor Park 24 Hour Tennis Marathon

Tennis for free Manor Park.

There are only 2 WEEKS to go now until a group of hardy souls from Manor Park play through the night against Davis and Fed Cup players to help raise money for Tennis for Free Manor Park.

To all of you who have ever been to Tennis For Free in Manor Park or have shown an interest in what we do, as you know we provide Community tennis sessions for everyone FREE of charge so, we are asking you all if you would help us raise some funds to carry on this great scheme and to make the courts in Manor Park into a showpiece for the Charity around the country.

All money raised will be used to do the following:-

  • We want to build a practice wall in the courts so those who have nobody to play with can come up and play against the wall any time they like.
  • We want to introduce the country’s first "Community Court” whereby we encourage people to join in together and play Quickfire on one court instead of sitting waiting for a court to become free, this court will be painted Blue with the "Tennis For Free" logos on it.
  • We want to build a bigger gate for access in to the courts so the council can use a mini road sweeper to clean the courts
  • We want to fix the fencing around the sides to stop balls escaping underneath

Tennis For Free, Manor Park started many years ago, and is something we are all proud of, Mark (Head Coach) and Patrick (Tennis for free, Chairman) have volunteered here for over 14 years.

We now have 88 sites across the country with plans to launch 100 more this year, so the aim is to make the founding courts a model for the rest of the country to follow!

I’m asking for you all to sponsor us, we are putting together a group of players from the park who will be playing at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton on February 23rd for part of a 24 hour marathon raising money for various tennis schemes around the country, we have the lovely time slot of 4am to 8am so we are going to be working hard for your donations!!

Wimbledon sensation Marcus Willis and Fed Cup player Naomi Cavaday will be playing the full 24 hours and our lucky players will be competing against them!

So what do I want you to do?

Can you all set yourselves a target of raising £100 each, spread the word on your social media, work, anywhere you can think of, ask people to donate, donate yourselves, we really do need your help to make this happen, let’s show what this wonderful community can do for the benefit of everyone for many years to come.

We have a donation page you can share around and put your donations on and we have until February 22nd to make this happen:
