Tennis for free | Weekly Roundup | Week 7

0 0

The weekend 4th and 5th May was another fantastic weekend for Tennis for free.

Attendance across the UK rose to it’s highest for the year with over 1200 stepping onto court including 247 of you for the first time ever.

Top performers

This week we saw two sites welcome over 50 participants for the first time this year, Manor Park (Aldershot) and of course Poole Park (Bournemouth) who continue to stay top of the table, now for the third week running.

The rest of the top 10 are as follows:

Hednesford Park (Cheslyn Hay Tennis Club), 43

Cassiobury Park (Watford), 41

Joseph Hood (Merton), 41

Gosforth Central Park (Newcastle), 40

Sunderland Tennis Centre (Silksworth), 38

Heavitree Park (Exeter), 37

Pype Hayes Park (Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club), 35

Sefton Park (Mersey Bowmen), 34

In addition, a big shout out must go to the team at Gosforth Park Central, who welcomed 11 new visitors this week which pushed them back into our top 10 after a week out.

New visitors

It was once again great to see so many new faces at the various sessions up and down the country.Top marks this week go to the top 6 who all had more than 10 new players this week. So well done to Poole Park (Bournemouth), Greenhead Park (Huddesfield), Wythenshaw Park (Manchester), Gosforth Central Park (Newcastle), Egerton Park (Bexhill) and Ashton Park (Manchester).

The rest of the top 10 are as follows:

Cassiobury Park (Watford), 9

Joseph Hood (Merton), 9

Manor Park (Aldershot), 9

Sunderland Tennis Centre (Silksworth), 8

Site of the week

Whilst a special mention must go this week’s number 1 site Poole Park, sometimes it is great to see an immediate recovery after a week out of the top 10. What this does show is that despite sometime weeks being a touch quieter due to either the weather or local events, the site performs well to ensure the community bounce back the week after. Therefore, this week’s site of the week goes to the team at Gosforth Central Park (Newcastle) with 40 attendees and 11 newbies. Well done to all the team.
