Tennis for free | Weekly Roundup | Week 9

1 1
Weekly Round Up | Week 9 | 18th and 19th May

On the weekend of the 18th and 19th May (week 9) Tennis for free welcomed nearly 1400 visitors up and down the UK and Ireland. This included 270 visitors who came to play for the very first time.

This weeks top performers

There really is no stopping Poole Park, Bournemouth this May, as they remained in top place with 77 visitors (despite only seeing 8 new visitors) which clearly shows the regulars are enjoying their tennis this summer. This week we saw two new additions to the top 10 with Sefton Park (Mersey Bowmen) and Cotteridge Park (Birmingham) both making great strides this week at the expense of Mere Green Community Centre (Sutton Coldfield), Joseph Hood (Merton) and Seafield Gardens (Bournemouth) who drop out this week. No doubt some of them will be working hard to get back into the top 10 next week.

The top 10 for week 9 are as follows:-

Poole Park (Bournemouth) 77
Manor Park (Aldershot) 58
Sefton Park (Mersey Bowmen) 51
Hednesford Park (Cheslyn Hay Tennis Club) 49
Pype Hayes Park (Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club) 49
Boscawen Park (Truro) 47
Birkenhead Park (Wirral) 43
Priory Park (Georgians Club) 39
Heavitree Park (Exeter) 35
Cotteridge Park (Birmingham) 34

New Visitors

New sites Boscawen Park (Truro) & Horsham Park (Horsham)  head up this weeks new attendees with 23 and 18 respectively, as they top the table for newbies for the second week in succession. Great work from all involved.

The remainder of the top 10 are as follows:-

Boscawen Park (Truro) 23
Horsham Park (Horsham) 18
Birkenhead Park (Wirral) 14
Hednesford Park (Cheslyn Hay Tennis Club) 13
Park Road Tennis Courts 12
Evington Park (Leicester) 11
Souter Park (Whitley Bay) 10
Saint Marys Park (Prestwich) 10
Solihull Tennis Club (Solihull) 9
Poole Park (Bournemouth) 8 (T)
Stamford Park (Manchester) 8 (T)

Site of the week

With a fantastic performance for a second week running, this weeks site of the week goes once again the Boscawen Park (Truro). Despite only being active for 2 weeks, it once again welcomed more new visitors that any other site, and continued to hold its place in the top 10.
