Victoria Park Tennis Success
Last Sunday saw the 2nd anniversary of Victoria Park's Tennis For Free partnership, which saw them smash their targets for this year.
The partnership which consists of the charity "Tennis For Free", Sefton Council and Ben Saunders Tennis, has been running free tennis sessions for people of all ages and abilities every Sunday for two years.
Head Coach Ben Saunders set the target of reaching 75 attendees for their last big event of the year but was blown away when the final figure reached 121 for the day.
Ben says" we had a great response from the community for this event, with businesses and schools in the area coming out in support. We had a few prizes donated from businesses on "Crosbynet" our local Twitter network group , Dominos pizzas delivered some free pizzas and we gave away lots of other goodies&medals too. It was a great way to celebrate our 2nd anniversary and we recently found out that the project will be funded for another year!"
